Highlander: Endgame
Character: Methos
Fashion statement: You can wear pink and still be a man.
Deathless dialogue: What brings you to my humble abode?

Endgame opened September 1, 2000 in North America to almost
universal bad reviews from professional critics. Reception from
fans was generally more positive but still very mixed.
There were several memorable moments in the film like the chemistry
between the heroes Connor and Duncan MacLeod and cameos by actresses
from the first film. However, these were diminished by inconsistencies
in the plot as well as with previous Highlander canon, laughable
overacting by Bruce Payne as the villain Kell, and lack of development
for secondary characters (Kell's henchman Jin Ke was wasted). Perhaps
most telling, Endgame went straight to video in the UK, and
the worldwide video/DVD release was re-edited with a longer running
time and a different ending.
Peter's screentime was short really only a cameo
but Methos still squeezed in some witty comments with all his expository
dialogue (i.e. info dumping). The token presence of Methos and Joe
(Jim Byrnes) was just to establish them as part of the movie continuity.
If there are future Highlander films (and that's a big "if"
at this point), Methos and Joe should have bigger parts.
