Murder Most Horrid - Transcript
The main plot revolves around Kate, an arrogant but well-known
doctor (she has her own TV show), who's confronted one night at
a gas station by the wife of a patient who died because of a mistake
she made in the operating room. The wife says she's found evidence
that Kate was not following regulations when she attempted to do
a complicated procedure for which she wasn't trained. As a result,
the husband died. When the wife threatens to expose Kate, Kate runs
her over with her car and takes off. Later at the hospital, much
to Kate's horror, a new patient is wheeled into the emergency room
it's the wife, in a coma but still alive. The rest of the
episode concerns Kate's clandestine attempts to bump off the wife
and prevent reporters and the police from finding out the connection
between them.
Peter plays an "upstart" young doctor at Prince Edward's Hospital.
He foils Kate's attempt to kill the wife in the emergency room by
pointing out a cut on the woman's colon that Kate made "accidentally."
Save Teddy's Day is a rally to save the hospital where, among other
activities, the hospital staff come to work wearing teddy bear ears
and noses.
[The doctors are sitting around the hospital lounge watching a
replay of Kate on TV demonstrating how she cleared dangerous air
bubbles from a patient's breathing tube.]
Kate: The thing to do was clear the tube by giving it a
quick suck here.
Giles: [laughing] Oh-oh-oh! She's done that before!
Other doctor: I bet she has!
Giles: [at the TV] Rather you than me, mate!
[He then notices Kate standing behind him and scrambles up to get
back to work.]
Giles:
Are you doing anything wacky for Save Teddy's Day?
Kate: [sarcastically] Just the usual brainy business of
general surgery, if that's all right with you, Giles.
Giles: Fine.
Kate: I mean, I know it's not as important as pushing a
bed up the high street with a stethoscope tied to your ass, but
you know...
Giles: We're just trying to save the hospital.
Kate: Well, I'm trying to save lives and no one's going
to stop me. Right? No one.
Giles: [humbly] Right.
Kate: Right.
